Furniture Painting: Getting Started

You don’t have to be an artist to paint a piece of furniture. In fact, many of the items you’ve been admiring on Pinterest and Instagram are the work of self-taught DIYers. The only difference between them and you is that they picked up a paint brush and took a chance. The good news is you don’t have to take the leap blindfolded. Seasoned DIYers like Jenni Ingram of Roots and Wings Furniture are willing to share everything they know about turning worn-out furniture into second-chance masterpieces.
“The best way to learn is just to do it!” says Jenni. “I think people get so bogged down with all the info out there. Jenni suggests the following YouTube videos for step-by-step directions on how to get started transforming your furniture:
When you’re ready to move on to more complicated projects, Jenni can help you out there, too. Check out her website and the extensive collection of blog posts and videos for more information and inspiration.
